As a member of the Board....

• October 2016 – Nicole Jones unanimously approved for appointment to serve as provisional board member for Trustee Area 2.

• November 2016 – Nicole Jones was sworn-in as a Compton Community College District Trustee.

• December 2016 – Trustee Jones was elected by her colleagues to serve as Clerk of the Board.

• June 2016 – Trustee Jones achieved certification in the Excellence in Trusteeship Program, a training program offered by the Community College League of California. 

• December 2017 – Trustee Jones voted by colleagues to serve as Board President.

• Compton Community College District regains local control.

• Compton College receives full accreditation for seven years, becoming the 114th campus in the California Community College system.

• Compton College celebrates 90th Anniversary.

• Compton Promise initiated with Compton Unified School District (CUSD) to provide free college tuition for CUSD graduates.

• Memorandum of Understanding initiated with Charles Drew University to provide a pathway for Compton College nursing students to articulate into four-year degree program.

• Lynwood Promise initiated with Lynwood Unified School District (LUSD) to provide free college tuition for LUSD graduates.
